Starting work on a combined Tarmac driveway in Bridgwater, Somerset

We recently started a new driveway transformation for two properties in Durleigh, Bridgwater. The homes are on the bend of the road which is also on a hill. Since the homes were built back in the 50s the two driveways have been separated by a solid concrete divide. We were asked to redesign it so a tarmac driveway swept between the two properties making it easier to park and make the front of the properties look really neat! But first we had to clear the existing driveway material, concrete, brick blockwork paving and level out the surface to match the gradient of the road and pavement.

Radar Detector

Before we start to do any serious digging or removal of major materials we always check for utilities to ensure we don’t accidentally damage anything (or us). This is where the eCAT4 Radio Detector comes in. We use it to provide a comprehensive solution for detecting the locations of signal-generating underground utilities. It’s designed for use outdoors with it being resistant to weather and is an essential tool for us for detecting and avoiding underground hazards. By scanning with this tool we can clearly map out the distribution of underground utilities, ensuring accidental strikes don't occur and damage isn't inflicted on the person digging or the utility.

Keep checking back for more progress on this job!
